| Our story....... Steve and Donna Jung saw the need for study skills to help their children become efficient, independent learners. They researched several programs in Texas, Florida, and Colorado, which ultimately lead them to "Learning To Learn", written by Gloria Frender. Mrs. Frender's program has been taught in Colorado for over 14 years with tremendous success. They were so impressed with the study skills program Mrs. Frender had been teaching, they made the decision to form their own learning company and bring the program to Montgomery County. One important component of the study skills program was that it included the parent(s), acting as a consultant and advisor for one's children. Consulting with Dusty and Lydia Joiner, long time area educators and friends, Learning Power, Inc. became a reality. Working closely with Gloria Frender and area teachers, "Learning To Learn", study skills workshops are now available to students and parents of all abilities here in Montgomery County. Donna Jung has a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Southwestern University. She obtained secondary degree hours in Accounting at North Harris Community College. She has worked for the last 22 years in both the Accounting and Benefits field, of which the last 18 years have been with Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston, Texas. Steve Jung holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics from The University of Texas. He has worked as an Independent Life and Health Insurance Agent for the last 21 years, and is a Certified Financial Planner. Dusty Joiner has a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Study from Tarleton State University and he has a Master's Degree in Education from Texas Southern University. He has been in education for 10 years. He taught at the junior high level and the high school level. He is currently an Assistant Principal at Splendora Intermediate. Lydia Joiner holds a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Tarleton State University and a Master's Degree in Education from Sam Houston. She has been in education for 9 years. She has taught at the elementary, junior high, and high school level. She is currently a lead high school counselor in CISD. |
